Bike Connector Kit for Hauler

New orders ship February
$129

The Bike Connector Kit turns the Hauler into something you can tow. A tow arm runs from your bike’s rear axle to the Hauler, so the load follows the bike and you cover ground you couldn't cover on foot.

At the bike, a quick-release skewer replaces the standard bolt on the rear axle and becomes the pivot the tow arm hitches to—fitted once, then it’s there whenever you want it. At the Hauler, a receiver mounts beneath the left rail and takes the tow arm on a cotter pin. The Hauler’s swivel wheels come off for the ride, and they ride with you in the SmartBin so they're there to reattach when you get there, so you have a fully working Hauler for the last stretch—the walk in from the parking area, the length of the beach, the campground road. You arrive with a Hauler, not with a trailer you now have to do something about.

Add the Beach Wheel Kit for sand, or the High Performance Wheel Kit for trail and campground.

Frequently Asked QuestionsFrequently Asked Questions
Will the Bike Connector Kit fit my bike?

It fits most bikes. The Bike Connector Kit is compatible with quick-release rear axles, and the bike axle mount is the only part that goes on your bike. If you're not sure what your bike has, or you ride an e-bike with a motor in the rear hub, contact us before you order and we'll help you check the fit.

Can I tow my kids with it?

No. The Hauler is for gear, and isn't child safety certified—towing it behind a bike doesn't change that. Keep passengers to the gear, and to a dog who settles in for the ride.

How does the Bike Connector Kit attach to my bike and Hauler?

At the bike, a quick-release skewer replaces the standard bolt on your rear axle and becomes the pivot point the tow arm hitches to. Fit it once, and it stays on your bike. On the Hauler, a receiver mounts beneath the left rail and takes the tow arm on a cotter pin. Hitching up and unhitching needs no tools at either end.

Do I have to remove the Hauler swivel wheels to tow?

Yes, the swivel wheels come off for bike mode. Put them in the SmartBin and they travel with you. When you arrive, refit them and the Hauler works exactly as it did before, so you can cover the last stretch on foot. You can fit the standard swivel wheels, or the Beach or High Performance Wheel Kit if the ground calls for them. The mounting plate that attaches under Hauler does not need to be removed to refit the swivels—once you set it you can forget it.

Can I use the Bike Connector Kit with more than one bike?

The axle mount stays on whichever bike you fit it to. The tow arm and the Hauler receiver stay the same.
