Is the bottom of Basecamp XL padded?

We chose not to pad the bottom of Basecamp XL so it would not be bulky, heavy or difficult to fold. To add cushion, we designed Air Pad XL. It is our custom designed self-inflating portable cushion for Basecamp XL and beyond.

Can my child sleep overnight in Basecamp XL?

Basecamp XL is a JPMA certified playard designed for day adventures. It was not designed for overnight sleeping.

Does the sun cover have a sun protection rating?

Yes, Basecamp XL comes with a removable UPF50+ sun cover.

Does Basecamp XL provide insect protection?

Yes. Unlike most playards, Basecamp XL was designed to be fully enclosed when the zipper door is closed and offers excellent protection from insects.

Can Basecamp XL be used for overnight camping?

Basecamp XL is designed for day adventures. It is a JPMA certified playard but we do not recommend it for overnight excursions.

What is the difference between Basecamp and Basecamp XL?

Whereas Basecamp fits 1-3 kids, Basecamp XL is 20% larger and fits 1-5 kids. Only Air Pad is compatible with Basecamp, and Air Pad XL compatible with Basecamp XL.

    This is a perfect size for my two boys to hang out in the backyard or the park when there is no shade. Easy to set up and pack away as well. Would recommend as a gift for an outdoorsy family.

    Easy to set up and take down. Did take a little effort to shove back in the bag, but I love that it has hooks to hang off our cruiser wagon

    This has been ideal for outdoor activities with my preschooler and toddler. My toddler isn’t interested to join us in our gardening most days so this was just what I needed. Easy pop and set up, toss water bottle and toys in, and she was happy to hang out while we worked in the garden. Then take down was really fast and easy(once you figure out where to grab to grip). Storage is fabulous and compact, and attachment to our veer wagon makes for easy transportation.

    Can’t speak highly enough about this time. Also bought the mattress pad to go with it. Pop it up in literally two seconds and take it down and bag it up in under 30 seconds. Do not hesitate to make this purchase. You won’t regret it!
